Where Your Birth Story Continues...
Postpartum doulas play a vital role in supporting families during the postpartum period. They offer a unique blend of emotional, physical, and practical assistance, helping new parents adjust to their new roles and promoting the well-being of both the birthing parent and the baby. Their support can significantly reduce stress, improve breastfeeding success, and lower the risk of postpartum depression. Studies have shown that cultures in which women are cared for by others for a defined period of days or weeks and are expected only to nurture themselves and their babies during that time, have superior outcomes in postpartum adjustment.
As a Postpartum Doula I provide physical, emotional and evidence-based informational support during the postpartum period, including:
- Postpartum nourishing meals and drinks
- Assistance with recovery form childbirth, such as guidance on rest, nutrition and self-care practices
- Lactation support and infant feeding guidance
- Newborn Care
- Education and guidance on infant feeding, daily routine, and healthy sleep habits
- Emotional support
- Light household help, including laundry, dishes and light tidying
Whether you’re seeking a restful recovery, nourishing rituals, infant care guidance and emotional support as you adjust to a life with your newborn, I’m here to walk alongside you - offering holistic care tailored to your family's rhythm and needs, allowing you to focus on rest and bonding with your baby.
