FAQ's

1. What is a birth doula?

A birth doula is a trained professional who offers emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. I walk alongside you, holding the sacredness of the journey while offering evidence-based care, hands - on support and nurturing presence.

2. What does your support look like during labor?

I provide comforting touch, breath guidance, relaxation techniques, labor positions, and emotional reassurance. I help to create a calm, grounded space—whether in a hospital, birth center, or at home—honoring your preferences and deep instincts.

3. Do you replace my partner or medical team?

Never. I walk alongside your partner and care team, not in place of them. I offer guidance and tools that help your partner stay involved and connected. I also

communicate respectfully with your providers to help protect your birth intentions.

4. What kinds of births do you support?

I support all birthing paths: hospital births, home births, VBACs, cesarean births, water births, medicated or unmedicated births. Each birth is sacred, and I tailor my support to honor your preferences and cultural context.

5. When should I hire you?

Any time during pregnancy is welcome. Many families choose to connect in the second trimester to allow time for relationship-building, preparation, and trust. However, I also walk with families who find me later in their journey—each connection is meaningful.

6. What happens right after birth?

I remain with you for about 2 hours after your baby’s birth to ensure you are settled, nourished, and supported in those first precious hours. My birth doula package includes 2 postpartum in-home visits. However, my postpartum offerings extend into the days and weeks after, should you desire continued care and ritual integration.

1. What is a postpartum doula?

Postpartum doulas play a vital role in supporting families during the postpartum period. They offer a unique blend of emotional, physical, and practical assistance, helping new parents adjust to their new roles and promoting the well-being of both the birthing parent and the baby. Their support can significantly reduce stress, improve breastfeeding success, and lower the risk of postpartum depression.

2. How long can you support us after birth?

Support can begin within hours after birth and continue for days, weeks, or months - depending on your needs. Some families receive care during the first 40 days,

others for select evenings or tender transitions. I offer flexible packages.

1. What does your overnight postpartum care include?

During overnight support, I care for your newborn, help with feeding and soothing, and create a restful environment so parents can sleep and recover.

I arrive in the evening and stay through the early morning hours. My care includes gentle emotional check-ins with parents before bedtime and in the morning, complete

newborn care, including light tidying and baby laundry if needed.

2. Do you work with adoptive or surrogate families?

Yes - with reverence and care. Every path to parenthood is sacred. I support emotional transitions, bonding, feeding, and household care for birth, adoptive, and surrogate

families alike.
